That’s a Wrap

It was a rather quiet night with some interesting data failing to materially move the major markets. There was a small negative revision to US growth while some solid data in Canada raised the prospect of another interest rate increase from the BoC in the first quarter of next year.

Markets look set to repeat last year’s pattern after some solid moves heading into the holiday break. The Christmas period last year saw some consolidation in bond markets while equities dipped going into the close of the year, as people look to crystallise gains made over the prior few months. But stranger things could happen.
